🛡️ Privacy Statement Overview
MyMoney is developed from the ground up on an absolute privacy-by-design foundation. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or analyze your personal or financial data. All transactions, accounts, debts, budgets, contact avatars, and personal notes remain exclusively stored on your physical device.
1. Data Collection & Zero Telemetry
MyMoney collects exactly ZERO bytes of telemetry, analytics, or user data.
All records created inside the application are written directly to your device's local SQLite database. No data is ever transmitted over the internet to any server, cloud provider, or third party.
We strictly do not collect:
- Personal Identifiable Information (name, email, phone number, physical address)
- Financial account numbers, bank credentials, cards, or PINs
- SMS messages or UPI verification logs (we never request SMS permissions)
- Device identifiers, Advertising IDs, IP addresses, or network metadata
- Crash reports, behavioral telemetry, or session recordings
2. Local Data Storage & Cryptography
All financial data is stored in a private SQLite database inside the sandboxed file system allocated to MyMoney by your operating system.
On supported platforms, the database is secured using SQLCipher encryption at rest. Other apps running on your device cannot access this database without root privileges or explicit user export.
3. Device Permissions Transparency
📇 Contacts Permission (Optional)
Allows you to import names, contact numbers, and avatars for friends when tracking shared expenses in the "People" tab. Contact reading and avatar caching is executed entirely on-device during the sync step. Contacts are never sent over the internet. You may decline this permission.
🔔 Notification Permission (Optional)
Used solely to schedule on-device alarms for upcoming AutoPay bills and recurring financial commitments. Scheduled locally; zero external push servers are involved.
📁 Storage / Document Picker Permission
Used solely when you explicitly tap "Backup" to save your database JSON file to a directory of your choosing, or when tapping "Restore" to select a backup file to import.
4. Backup Ownership & Portability
When you use the "Backup" feature, MyMoney exports your complete ledger into a clean, human-readable JSON format with full integrity metadata.
You hold 100% custody of this file. You may save it to your SD card, transfer it to your computer, or store it in your personal cloud storage.
5. Third-Party Services & SDKs
MyMoney integrates zero third-party advertising SDKs, zero analytics trackers, and zero social network SDKs. The app binary contains only proprietary application code built on open-source libraries.
6. Instant Data Purge & Deletion
To permanently delete all records:
- Open MyMoney Settings → Tap "Reset Database" to drop all SQLite tables and wipe all balances.
- Uninstalling the MyMoney application removes all local sandbox files and cached databases permanently.
