Terms of Service
Last revised: September 2026 (Version 3.0.0)
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the MyMoney application ("Application" or "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Application.
2. Description of the Application
MyMoney is an offline-first, client-side personal finance ledger that runs locally on your mobile device. The software assists individuals in manually logging transactions, monitoring account balances, tracking peer-to-peer debts, managing category budgets, and setting local bill reminders. The Application does not connect to banking institutions or financial networks.
3. Proprietary License & Intellectual Property
MyMoney, including its source code, architecture, UI designs, brand assets, and documentation, is the proprietary and exclusive intellectual property of Rahul Das with All Rights Reserved.
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use the application on your personal device pursuant to our End User License Agreement (EULA).
You may NOT resell, redistribute, sublicense, lease, copy, alter, modify, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Application or its underlying code in any form.
Third-party open-source libraries used within the Application are licensed under their respective permissive licenses, with full copyright notices and attributions documented on our Open-Source Licenses page.
4. User Custody & Responsibility for Data
Because MyMoney operates strictly on your physical device with zero cloud synchronization:
- You are the sole custodian of your financial records and backups.
- We cannot recover your data if your device is damaged, stolen, formatted, or if you delete your local backups.
- You are encouraged to regularly export backups to external storage using the in-app Backup utility.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring the confidentiality and security of any exported backup JSON files.
5. Disclaimer: No Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice
MyMoney is a computational ledger and organizational tool only. None of the charts, reports, net worth estimates, or budget figures generated by the Application constitute financial advice, tax planning, investment advisory, or certified accounting.
Users should consult certified financial planners, chartered accountants, or legal advisors for professional guidance.
6. Ledger Mathematics & Accuracy
The Application utilizes deterministic double-entry mathematical algorithms (enhanced in v3.0.0 with backward balance reconstruction) to compute historical start and end balances across accounts. While the system is rigorously tested against edge cases, floating point rounding, and chronological ordering, you should independently verify records before relying on them for critical legal or tax filings.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyMoney and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Application, data loss, device corruption, or calculation errors. The software is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind.
